Longbranch DCRA 7.62 with laminated stock

Some pics of my vertical laminated stocked target rifle.
Anybody have info on laminated stocks?where they were made?How many?Anybody else have one?
This one has 3/16 laminations.The other one I have has 1/16 laminations.
I am looking for a wide horizontal laminated stock.If anybody knows of one for sale please let me know.

Love the laminated stock (drool)

The last picture got my attention. I have a 1950 LB with a beech replacement stock (and suncorite on the action), and it has the serial number repeated in 2 lines right where your number is. I have the premise that mine was sent to the continent as military aid, probably to Belgium where it was repaired and refinished by a British trained armourer. The rack number is not a Canadian convention - but never say never with Enfields.

Gee, nothing rare about that rifle, it's a 1949 Longbranch, it's got a vertical laminated stock, AND it's a DCRA gun - that's close to 3 wins on one lottery ticket.

Interesting how they changed the shape of wrist of the butt, and the orientation of the laminations for the handguards.

Bedded with Bisonite? I see the forend cross strap is gone and filled in.

Rear trigger guard screw looks short?

I'm tempted to ask just how do you hold a rifle, especially a competition target rifle, with varnished woodwork? Or am I missing something? It can't be something applied to prevent warping as the idea behind laminates is that laminates don't warp!

Peter, I don't think it would be that difficult. I remember being in a "triangle" and having the sling so tight and my left hand wedged against the middle sling swivel I bet a small person could have stood on the rifle and it wouldn't move.

I have a Savage No 4 that is varnised and have no problems holding it and 99% of the time I don't wear shooting gloves.

Granted it would be more difficult than one that wasn't varnished but not that difficult.
