My Mom found these photos of My grandfather while cleaning out His Appartment as He is going to Hospice care.I believe these photos were taken in 1950 or '51 While He was in the U.S.N.,and I know that in 1952 He was stationed on the U.S.S.Walke(DD-723) as a radioman.here are the pics I scanned...

Well, great photos! These things are priceless heritage.
Sorry that he is going into hospice care. If he is still able to function, you may want to have a few conversations with him on his time in service. So far I have done this with two elder relatives.... before they passed on. I also digitized the "interview" so it wouldn't be lost!

My Dad was a Sargeant in the Marines, on Iwo Jima as well as Roi Namur, Saipan and Tinian, he survived all 4 battles, we had some of his ashes scattered on Mt Suribachi on Iwo Jima see website HQ224USMC Honoring the men of the HQ Company

There was one Marine, one Army Pilot and an Army Sargeant.

BTW,I was just looking at His DD 214 and He entered active service on 03 July,1951(for photo dating).
sorry for the loss, looks like he was a great guy...fun to be around for sure..
