A 1918 manufactured Short Lee Enfield - model MkIII* (Mk3*)
The nomenclature was changed in 1926 and the SHTLe Mk3* became the "No1 Mk3*"
Thanks! that was fast! How can I find the manufacturer? There's no BSA or Enfield or Lithgow markings there
Here's a link that will help with official markings.
It's a site provided by Amatikulu with some good information to bookmark for the future.

I'm going with SSA.
Look to the left side of the receiver near where the cocking piece sits when the bolt is closed.
The crown doesnt look right to me , but then again I am on the train travelling home and on my fourth can of murphys.
(must of been the Murphys, looks ok according to the Enfield bible)
