Enfield G3
Just got a new Toy today , but it also give me some questions .There are a few tales about the Enfield G3 . Some say they were original German HK parts which were Enfield stamped and sent via Switzerland to the Balkan conflict .Other say it was a delivery to Africa . What confuses me is that there is an arrow stamped in barrel and reciever , which i allways thought is a British property mark .
The Metal on the grip section and on the stock is painted or plated in a greyish color , so i guess they have been replaced . The reciever is painted black . Does anybody knows the original state of the rifle as it was delivered ?

I cataloged one of these for an Auction coming up in November here in New Zealand. Its the first time I have seen one but it too had the ->S<- marking. This marking probably hasn't been used in decades, its a British SOLD out of SERVICE marking, something that at one stage was common on Lee Enfields that were sold off.
It would be nice to learn more about these rifles.
