Hi,
I own a M1917 Eddystone. From what I've read, the ejector springs seem to be a weak point. Should I consider buying a spare, does an upgraded spring exist and is there anything I can do to prolong the life of the spring that I have? Thanks. This is my first post. I love this forum. Very informative.

The ejector spring on my 1917 Eddystone went out on me the first trip to the range. I used a ballpoint pin spring and cut it down to fit and is still in the rifle now. Replacement and better springs are available and would not hurt to have one for a back-up.
I'm surprised no one makes the flat spring that you install on the old ejector after snapping off most of what is left of the old leaf, as shown in vintage Ordinance Manuals. It looks simple, robust and permanent. CC
