Eclan M145 - Questions

A buddy gave this to me after being in the military for quite some time,and recently signing his papers..He had a few of them,and wanted me to have 1..I don't know too much about them,and was wondering if someone could enlighten me..I think this can go on a .556 and a M249?I don't plan on owning either of those guns in the near future,and I am not too attached to this scope..So,if anyone knows some sort of value,that would help out A LOT..Thanks...

M249 is a 5.56 so that's 2 strikes?LOL

They're made here in Canada. You can find them available in Brownells so you could compare to that. You can also search them by name on the internet so you won't be in the dark anymore. That one also has the killflash mounted so that would be extra value.

Unfortunately,I did all I could to look for this scope at Brownells,and was unsuccessful...Thanks for the tip though..

-D S Arms Has the Elcan M145 for $1326.00 USD. It appears to have killflash installed. I guess Brownells dropped this product. They now have NO Elcan products.

Geeez,that's a pretty penny in my eyes..LOL..Are they sought after?Do civilians prefer these?

Depends on who and where. I did 35 years in the CDN army and went from FNs to AR. I was raised on iron sights so these types aren't my thing. If they work they're ok but we used the C79 which is a bit different than these. These are good from what I hear and maybe a younger shooter will be drooling over it. Like anything else, with what you have in it you can give a guy a good deal. Remember, cash talks.

They can be configured for both the 5.56 and 7.62 NATO rounds. They're mostly in use on the 7.62 M240 GPMG and M249 SAW. There's not allot of demand with civilian shooters. I use one on the M240 and also have a C79 that I have on an M16A3. They are durable and excellent scopes but a bit bulky compared to the ACOG which is fast becoming the world standard for combat optics.
