Matching scope, chest and sling from what I recall
The SVT in Canada dropped by somewhere around $100.00 plus a few months ago. A good deal was $399.00 however now how many would you like at $299.00 or less.
Ammo is available for the SVT (7.62x54R) cheaper than it was a year or so ago however nothing like the price of 7.62x39. Ammo for the SKS has gone up in price however still very cheap for centre fire, just have to do a thorough job of cleaning corrosive primered ammo. Most people I know have thousands of round of "39" and sufficient quantities of "54" and "25".
Personally I think the thrill of shooting cheap "39" is over and I have several lifetimes of ammo remaining. I will however buy a bolt action to shoot the ammo and then will probably use more. I think I have only shot a SKS once this year. I do however think some of the new shooters are not a great asset if you know what I mean.
The good thing about having the cheap guns and ammo is I believe it brought more shooters to the sport. Suddenly a CF and it won't cost you a $1.00 or more a shot. Most ranges I have been to are littered with empty "39" cases.
The ammo that seems to be on the point of become hard to find is 7.62x25. I was told by a reputable dealer the last is now in Canada and there won't be more.
Well, if it was sold at list and no reason not believe it did not, the purchaser paid over 7900 with the 13% Ontario (THANK YOU Mr McGinty) HST!!!
