Yugo M24b bayo off ebay

I don't know much at all about bayonets, but I do know the early long ones bring a premium. I snagged this one off ebay.

It's an M24b conversion of a German 98/05 bayonet with scabbard.
Zastava historian Branko Bogdanovic confirmed it for me adding it was converted at VTZ. He said that of 4 types it was the "rarest." He also allowed they bring about 80 Euros ($123) over there. Regular long M24 bayos sell between $80-$120 here from what I've seen. With shipping, my cost is $74.50.
It also has what I'm told is an imperial Germ inspection stamp remaining.

I think you did well - I'd not seen a converted Gew98 bayon before, only read about them. I like the longer M24 type bayos - have one myself, though not a converted Gew model. They (M24 bayos) are uncommon in general. the M48 model is much easier to find.

Very good find, thats one of the rarer configurations of that bayo, if not the rarest. I sold one over 10 years ago for well over what you paid for yours, HTH-SDH

A friend who collects Yugo bayos allowed what I got is considered the second rarest of the 4 types.
