Laminate Stock Mosin?
I was just eyeballing some rifles online and came across some Mosins with laminate stocks. So... curious. Is there a benefit to these laminate stocks, or do they just look better? Should I bother ordering one, or just buy one with a hex receiver locally and forget about the laminate stock? Thanks!

Depends what you like I guess. The laminate stocks were made post WWII and installed during a refurbishment which all the other stocks went through too. Probably no real advantage but they do tend to look nicer. They also carry a bit of a premium over the regular stocks, $20-$30 depending on where you purchase. But so does a hex receiver rifle.
I personally do not have one yet but am looking/watching for one to go on sale. I have four regular stocked rifles, two hex, one ex-sniper WWII round, one pre-war Tula round. I figure the laminate stock will round out the major variations.
