I just picked up an eddystone with a 10-18 barrel and all parts eddystone. They all are parkerized. The stock has a P in a box behind the trigger gaurd, a capital letter A in front of the magazine floorplate, and a number on the stock end cap that is either 66 or 65. In some light the number looks like two E's. I think it is all original except maybe the stock.

Info on the stock and its markings.
P in a box, is a proof mark. stamped during rebuild, A accepted, the number is a gallery subinspector marking.. E Eddystone ..
If all the parts are parkerized, it went through a rebuild. Almost all of the parts should be marked, this link is a good reference.

I thought Eddystone changed over to a Parkerizing process in around Oct. 1918?
Look at the end of the stock near the muzzle. It should be stamped with a letter.

Yes, but it was smooth black parkerizing that looked very close to the original browned/blued finish. It did not look like the parkerizing that we normally think of on US military rifles.Quote:
