1943/1944 Springfield M1 Garand *Service* Grade First Look

This is a short video of another one of my Garands, this one is a Service Grade, in pretty nice shape, I do believe. The receiver was manufactured in late December 1943, according to one site, or early January 1944, according to another site. Not sure the stock is original to that date, the barrel is from 1954, the bolt is an HRA, and mix master parts within. I had to have the op rod replaced due to the one it came with was out of spec. Had all the springs replaced in it as well by Orion 7. Hit the stock with several treatments of Scot's Liquid Gold, did a nice job cleaning the wood and bringing out the grain a bit.

This one is also close to your serial number, not a good photo of the barrel date which is SA-2-44. Got this back in the late 90's. Bolt rev 12SA S-06<>, op rod rev 9 uncut, short fork follower rod, rev 12-SA trigger housing with rev 5 SA hammer. Interesting that the serials are in the Winchester group too
