Just a couple of photos of a frame tucked away in a corner of my dads room. Also a heads up about a new book Called Reverie by Barbara Nicholas Steinfeld that is currently able to pre order at Amazon.com. It is a compilation of 60+ stories from veterans and also family members spanning many wars and also in between. My Dads is #30 as they are in order of the alphabet. I've read my dads story concerning the Cuban Missile Crisis as the author sent him a signed copy. I ordered two copies and plan on getting my Dad to sign it under his picture by his story. I didn't have much time but the stories look really good.....something for everyone.

Thanks for the heads up on the book. I'm reading a similar book right now that I've mentioned in another thread that are the collective experiences with US small arms by GIs in WW2 and the Korean War, in their own words. What's great about it is you really get a sense of the realism of the stories because they are in their own words, each account has the flavor of the guy telling it, just like you're sitting at a table with 20 or 30 vets, all going around the table taking turns telling stories. It's not like all the stories were rewritten by the author so they all sound the same. You can tell some are a better speaker than others, some use profanity, some don't, etc. Really cool.
Also enjoyed the photo. I inherited a bunch of medals from the estate of my wife's grandfather who was stationed in Berlin '45-'47 I believe it was. It was all of his accumulated awards plus a lot of German ones he picked up while there. Been thinking of creating two displays for them. I'll attach a couple photos of his badges. My wife's Dad gave them to me after he passed. I was the only one that has any interest in this stuff. I posted these photos on another site attempting to identify the sword pin. I identified the others as best I could.

And by the way, here is the thread about the book I mentioned. I'm not finished yet, but it is fantastic.
