I have some Allied Military Currency issued in Italy. Also one bill of British military authority issued money. Were there other countries in which this currency was issued in during the war? Is there much of a collectors market for this? Thanks

I am not sure who issued this type of currency during WWII however had a friend whose brother was in the Canadian Navy in the 50's and he showed my some script they were issued in the Orient. Guess they didn't want the commies to get hard US or Canadian currency.
There's a market for everything. There were various scrip types and there's a thread here with many examples. About six months ago I think.
THere was a short thread here about a month or so regarding Japanese occupation money (us occupying THEM as opposed to them occupying elsewhere is you get my drift.......) and I asked whether it would have any TRUE value if you took it to a bank in Japan or the, say US Treasury.
Britain also issued a similar occupation money in Germany after the war and I read somewhere that it will still have a real value as opposed to a collectors value
I know that the British issued ocupation money in Austria post-War Two. It was termed "bafs" for British Armed Forces. Don't know if it was denominated in Marks or Schilling. Stuff they issued in Gemany was in Pfennige and Marks.
Japanese issued occupation money for half of Creation and there is a lot of it on bay: pesos for the Philippines, Guilders for Dutch East Indies (now Indonesia), Rupees for Burma and so forth. They even issued Dollars, supposedly for Hawaii and Alaska; there was a lot of that around when I was in school. Printing jobs weren't very good, just offset litho jobs, but the fibre in the paper was unique to one locality.... in Japan. Counterfeiting must have been somewhat difficult.
Germans issued Lagergeld for use in P.O.W. camps and other fun places. Somewhere around here I should have one from KZ Theresienstadt. They also issued occupation money for the Channel Islands and other places.
.
As I recall, the BAFVS (British Armed Forces Special Vouchers) or BAFFS issued in Germany in the 40,s 50,s and early 60's was in Pounds Shillings and Pence. The pence being a compressed plastic stuff. Our old Paymaster had a framed set on his wall and told me that they were still to the monetary value.......... If you could find a bank to change them!
Compare that old currency with the Eagle Cash the US military uses now in places like Afghanistan. You top up your Eagle cash card at a bank machine and then use it to buy everything around Kandahar Airbase from haircuts to ice cream to televisions. The idea is to lessen the amount of US currency floating around, particularly since it is the choice currency for insurgents to procure their ordnance supplies. That said, the Saturday bazaar on camp is strictly cash.
