Just got a 1946 Jungle carbine. Rifle appears pristine. Trigger seems "floppy" It has a good 3/4" or more of free play, that is gravity alone will move trigger that far before any engagement then pull is like dragging a log through thick mud. I've had other jungle carbines and never had this issue. Missing a spring, need some fitting, or did I get taken?
read an earlier thread about fitting triggers and getting the correct trigger pull-off. It's easy to fix. Someone who's computer literate will resurrect the thread

Triggers are a no sweat item, worst case the parts are all available and not expensive. The tech articles here are the best.
The pins that the trigger and sear move on can wear a lot, so I'd look at those, and the holes, as a source of the sloppiness. The drag through mud feel is often a groove or low spot in the face of the striker knob that the sear contacts, if there's a groove it requires extra effort to get the sear moving. Further down but to less effect, grooves and a bad surface on the sear that the trigger contacts can also be a bad thing, but its a flatter contact so the feel is quite different.
