Were there any British War Reserve #4 mk 2 (T) rifles made? These are the finest #4's ever produced and I cannot help but wonder if any were turned into (T)'s. If not, did thay just transition the #4 mk1's into the L39's, skipping the #4 mk 2 altogether?
Did they ever use the War Reserve #4 mk 2 actions to make the Enforcer rifles or L42's?
No4.Mk1T Yes, No4.Mk1*T Yes, No4.Mk1/2T Yes, No4.Mk1/3T Maybe, No4.Mk2T NO, Probable that late build No4.Mk2's were made into L39 and Enforcer, L42 were all No4.Mk1T or No4.Mk1*T.
But there is always the odd bit of new infomation somewhere
XL39 is dead right. there were NO No4 Mk2T's. By the time the Mk2 came on stream, the telescope/sniper rifle programme had finished

I've only closely examined about half a dozen of the Indian 'Mk2' No 4 T's, but they were all ex-British (or presumably there would also be the odd Long Branch) 4T's of wartime production that had had all the original markings linished off them, I assume at the same time as the Mk1/2 conversion was effected. The trigger blocks were crudely brazed in place. All the ones I saw were marked RFI 1962 (or possibly 1963) so far as I remember......But they were NOT of new production, at least not IMHO. Of course they could have made new ones, but they'd have a scope shortage unless they either made new ones or cannibalised original equipments.
