Swedish carbine stock value

I located a Swedish carbine stock in my local high school rifle team room this evening. The school is planning to sell things of value off to help fund the rifle team and the coach needs to submit a rough estimate of value to the sports director.

The bad news is the stock has been cut short to just in front of the barrel band. There is no hand guard. The leather strip holding the sling ring and ring are in place as is the brass disk and the paper range card is still glued to the butt. The butt plate is also in place but is rusty. The paper range card is missing a few chunks but is mostly there. All in all, it looks pretty good except for the rounded front end where it was cut off.

No idea how it got there. It was in the back of the cabinet and this range has never been used for anything other than 22's and now air rifles. I'm under the impression they are going to take the odds and ends to the local gun auction so it can't be sold to anyone here. Just looking for a ball park figure.

I think you can answer that question yourself. Think how much work it would take to bring that stock back to the original shape. Think what such a stock is worth to a collector (approx. zilch). It would only be interesting for someone who has a carbine with an even more seriously damaged stock and wants to make a shooter out of it again. What would you give for it? Probably very little.

Yes I figured I could answer that question myself but for the school I figured I'd be fair about it and get an outside opinion. I figured I'd give them $5 for it just for the curiosity value of it. I told the coach it wasn't worth much because it was cut.

I brought the stock home, wiped it down, cleaned it up a bit. Got the extreme rust off of the buttplate and am now wondering what to do with it. Chances of finding an action and barrel are slim to none. I don't plan to get rid of it. Any ideas? Perhaps make a mock rifle out of it just for display? It would be a real challenge I suppose.

Thanks again Patrick. You introduced me to another book I'll probably have to track down as I have a 96 Swede.

I have such a mod. 94 swede that needs a stock. I'd buy if from you if you wanted to sell it rather than make a project. Lemme know.
