I pulled this stock off a bubba'd enfield No4 I picked up on the cheap. I've searched the usuals (303british.com, among others) to identify the markings, other than the S in the box for Savage I can't find anything. There is a 3rd T stamped in just out of frame.
I added a shot of the markings on the side of the buttstock, which I have no luck finding info on.
any thoughts?

WOW - it was a rare Coldstream Guards ceremonial Enfield... not.
Hard to say what it was. CAS might be bubba's intials signing his masterwork. 18 CW/S is likely an issue markign from whichever country had that rifle last - in all liklihood NOT England as it doesn't match any regiment I've ever heard of.

Doesn't mean anything IMHO. Sniper wood wasn't generally "T" marked without also being marked with the H&H Manufacturing code (or the LB code if a LB sniper). Also the receiver would have No.4T pads installed if it was "T" wood.
Of course, if your receiver is equipped with No.4T pads, you should consider a restoration as No.4T snipers are dead sexy...

If that's an "S" in a square, it's a Savage manufacturing mark.
