Can anyone help with an ID? I have had this for many years and IRC I was told it was a machinegun sight of some sort.
I am thinking of selling it as I have not seen or used it in 15++ years so ideas on value would also be welcome.

Just a coaxial gun sight for the BESA machine gun on the Mk7 or 8 Churchill gun tank. It's your lucky day if you've got a Churchill tank.
Not worth anything as a telescope BUT it is worth a few £££ for its optical spare parts that are interchangeable with the Mk1 and 2 sniper telescopes used on the No4 rifle
The only place to realise its true worth/value is at auction. Try Ebay with all this info and some decent pictures
