Need Help!! Is this an SMLE Combination Tool?

I have an opportunity to buy a SMLE Combination Tool.
I need help in verifying that this is indeed a SMLE tool.
A few things that don't look right are:

1) I have never heard of this maker (Foster) and the leg with the rectangular hole is not familiar to me, what is the purpose of the hole?

2) All the other tools, I have seen, have a extractor removal/installer leg and this tool does not.

3) The firing pin protrusion gage reads .055 and .05, all the other ones I have seen read .040 and .042

Is this an SMLE or a tool for ????

.50 to .55 is the wartime go - no/go, so that part seems correct enough.

I can't find a picture of a Ross rifle combo tool but I think the pin protrusion on those things is .050"-.055", so maybe...?

*There may be a pic in here but my crap computer is too slow to download the manual. Life ain't easy at 16kps.

Well, I guess I'll go ahead and pick it up.
Could not find anything else about it anywhere, the Ross Web sites didn't pan out.
If I could only find out what that square hole is for.....

Enlarging the pic, it reads "PATT 1914" in the middle of the stamping... could it be for a Patt 14 rifle perhaps?

That might explain the absence of the extractor removal/installation leg and that funny square hole I thought was used to remove the cap from a cold Foster's. :D
Also the pin protrusion go no/go measurements are wrong for a SMLE (s/b .040-.042 not .05-.055 right?).

But then why the leg with the two pegs used for the SMLE rear sight slide? :dunno:
Did the P14 have volley sights? Was this leg used to tighten it?
The mystery continues....

My money is on the P14 Rifle.

- The tool is stamped "Patt 14"
