I have an Arisaka that has been sporterized. I have reloaded for it and it shoots ok. I also have a MAS MLE 1936 with no bolt. Would like to get a bolt for it. The bore looks dirty but could probably be cleaned up. Can this be a shooter?

Not much collecter value to these, both are shooter grade. I'd have that frenchy cheked out by a gunsmith once you find a bolt though headspace and all.
The little Arisaka's actually not a bad looking little carbine. It would be quite easy to carry and shoot...
The Arisaka is a very nice looking rifle but has a lot going against it. Ammo is difficult to get, it's been blued/cut/etc which reduces it's value as a parts gun. The type has an undeserved bad reputation in the states. So for max value, you have to find someone that can reload for it and wants it for shooting/hunting rather than collection. At my local gun auction, they have a lot of trouble getting anything for them. I've seen them sell for as low as $40 and I don't recall a sporterized Arisaka ever selling for more than $100. Personally, I'd never sell for those prices. Find the right guy, you could get a couple hundred out of it.
The MAS is another problem rifle. It's been sporterized as well and there is very little interest in these with the exception of collectors. Missing the bolt and with a bad bore another tough sell. In good original condition, I've seen these on the market for $300-$400. In the condition it's in, not anywhere close that.
I'm in the market for both types so I have been watching prices. Only after original configuration.
