Spanish mauser rebarrel
Hey guys,
So I have a Spanish Mauser that i have decided to rebarrel. Before some ask me why, I will just say, I am very familiar with this rifle and the history. It no longer has any collector value as it was bubbaed in the past.
I am looking for a new .30 cal barrel for it that i will be chambering for 7.62x39. ( i know that to shoot surplus it needs to be a .311 +/-.001 bore. i don't plan to shoot the surplus ammo through it as I reload.) I am just looking to breathe new life into this old gal so that she is no longer collecting dust. iron sights only, shooting out to 200 yds. I would prefer a heavy/varmint barrel. does not need to be threaded as i have access to machining equipment. also I am looking for something in the $100 range.
thanks guys for any input

E.R. Shaw has 4140 CM contoured blanks in the $135 range. IMO, they're excellent barrels for the price.

you can get one threaded, and short chambered for less then 200.00 , worth every penny to have someone else do the work. install it, finish ream it, and your in bus,
Adams and Bennet make a nice barrel, as does ER Shaw, Criterian a sister comp, to Krieger does as well.
last Adams /Bennet barrel set me back 125.00 shipped for a Turk Mauser i did for a youth shooter a few years ago. shipping time was a week. Universal Gun Parts | Gunsmithing & Gun Parts |

Numrich used to offer a 7.62x39 conversion kit for small ring mausers. IIRC, it came with a threaded short chambered barrel and the magazine hardware so it would function as a repeater. Don't know what quality they were or if they even sell them anymore though, but worth a look anyway.
