Rather than let these things sit in a drawer for another decade I made a small shelf and put some scrap parts to use. (A No.23 grenade is currently in restoration, so that hole will be filled.) My woodworking skills are not great but it works. Would anyone care to share ideas on wall mounted bayonet & scabbard displays?
Here's a bayo display Bayonet Display I've done. The pics are the unfinished version. The final work has a glass front. It's really just a shadow box or deep picture frame. I decided on an enclosed display for a couple of reasons. 1. It keeps unwanted fingers off the pieces. I have a couple of friends who can rust a gun or blade by looking at it, let alone touching it. 2. I don't have to dust them.
That looks good. Offsetting the shelves keeps it more in "balance". :thup:
I managed to get some stands made from Acrylic to suit my L1A1/C1/L1A3/FAL Bayonets. They can be used for other bayonets at a pinch, but if I was to display 'P07 Bayonets' then I would have a specific stand made. This stand is purposely made to hold 6 bayonets as there were 6 variations of Australian L1A2 bayonet.

Better get a special offset mount made up for those two No.4 bayonet's, they look out of place.
They were just chucked on there just to show what a display stand can do for a display. Like I said above the stands a purposely designed and built to hold L1A1/L1A3/L1A4/C1/FAL bayonets.Quote:
