Geo Evans & Co Full Grain Rawhide Leather Belt

I found this belt buried amongst my fathers collection and I have not been able to find any information. Is anyone familiar with Geo Evans & Co and if so, what era is this from? As always, all help is appreciated. Thanks!

It's a US Officers Garrison belt. The hook is for a sword. It should have a shoulder strap that crossed the chest at an angle. That's what the "D"rings attachments are for. Maybe WWI or earlier?

It's a Sam Browne belt. Looks to be from the early interwar period.

Looks like Geo. Evans & Company was a shoe manufacturer out of Hoopeston, IL around the turn of the century.

Your Correct. The Garrison belt is the web Mills made type with the 2 piece buckle.

I found this. I wonder if it is any relation to this belt. Your belt is made in Philly though. Just a thought.

I wonder if Geo. Evans and Co. was just a retailer of officers uniforms and equipment.
