Nice start, I remember when a Chassepot was all I was after noiw 30 odd later there are still ones i need, same with nearly every model there, I thought that gettign one example was enough and then found there were different makers, grips, hooks, lengths etc. and the disease was well entrenched

nice collection , some enviable pieces there , what year is your P07 hookie ?

Thanks chaps. I also only wanted a Chassepot, but didn`t know how to start looking. Got the Gras first then the others slowly followed. I get a bit of grief from the other half for buying second hand knives.:banghead: I`m definitely only going to have one example of each though:madsmile: The Hookie isn`t dated, it just has the Crown, ER. 1907, JAC. It is stamped with the N for Naval Property though. As for the folding bayonet I now know why they stopped making them, when the blades locked in position its as slack as a bag of cats knackers.
Not sure what info I can give on it `cept I saw, I wanted, I got. None of them are the best examples you can get, as you all know, you get what you can afford. The Gras is a semi relic, the 1873 Spingfield is a relic, someone has used the pomel on the S98 as a hammer and I think i`ve been ripped off with the 1866 American socket. But they`re all mine.:madsmile:
