You could have someone do an anodized finish on your trigger.
Thank you for the reply, How much it cost to get the trigger anodized? Would a gunsmith be able to o that?
I can't price work I don't do and I'm not a gunsmith. All gunsmiths do not offer the same services and finishes. You'll have to ask around.
Replacement triggers in silver or black/blue are quite easy to come by - Brownell's, Wilson Combat, Ed Brown, Ebay, etc. Make sure you get a "standard replacement" trigger, rather than a "fitted" trigger - which would be oversize for a gunsmith to fit preciesely. Unnecessary unless you want to do a Custom.
I would start with Brownell's website. CC
...or you can simply Google "anodizing" or open the phone book and see who does anodizing in your area. :)
you'll be way ahead to just replace it but you could be in over your head with fitting and such, I don't know what skills and talents you have. It's not hard but I ruined two before I got it "right"; not sloppy with the shoe fit to the frame. Me being the cheap skate that I am, I'd just pull it out and paint it and see how that goes.
1911 AUTO EXTREME SERVICE TRIGGER - Brownells
Better yet, just leave it alone. You know this one fits correctly.
I guess I could wire wheel it down to bare metal and polish the steel so it looks the same as the trigger......
Thank you for the help, I hadn't thought about brownells. Have a good day and thanks again.
I like the wire wheel idea. Be sure and send pictures.
