interesting early reciever

I was going through some recievers and while looking at this one, I noticed the seventh round mod does not look like it has been done. The reciever ribs are built up but they have not been welded. I do not see any discoloration from welding and the milling marks are consistant all the way down the rib. Maybe someone else's eyes are better than mine.

I have data on the following revision 2 receivers (from Mac) 43846 REP 3, 43848 REP 3, 43956 REP 3 and 43970 C1IA this all have the high guide ribs not repaired.

What is the revision number and heat lot code on 43676 ?

Nice photo of 34919, did you keep the original finish on the receiver ? what kind of stock is on it ?

IIRC, that's the serial area where they stopped boring into the rib on new receivers and started repairing those already in the process.

RCS , 34919 is original, except I did add the stock and rear handguard.
Bob , that is interesting to know about the ribs. I had 48019 that had the ribs cut during manufacture and these look like the drill bit was stopped before it cut them.

highest revision 1 receiver that I found is 49797 REP 5 guide ribs repaired, next to is 49155 also rev 1 REP 6 still with low guide ribs. I heard that 52021 might have low guide ribs but not certain.

Thought it was neat that it doesn't look like this reciever ever had low ribs to begin with and it is a rev. 1 . I have a reciever within a few hundred serial that does have low ribs.

After much scrutiny of the photos, it appears that the reciever has had the ribs welded back up by the armory and the 7th round mod. corrected. I appreciate everyone's help and advice.
