My First Enfield and it is via Bubba
I picked up my first Enfield this weekend at a gunshow.First look I new it had been altered some but for the price I thought I could take a chance(I just liked the way the rifle looked and felt). The sellere said he had shot the rifle recently and was just thinning the herd.He did have a photo copy from the "Book Of Guns" saying this is what the rifle was supposed to look like.
I did some research when I got Home and found out it is a Lee Enfield Calvary Carbine and Royal Irish Constabulary .I would appreciate a litttle help on when this carbine was made it does not have it on the left side of stock plate as I have seen on other pictures.
I was wondering if there is any hope on restoring .It is missing the dust plate but the lugs are there, the magazine cutoff and most easily seen the front of the stock, upper handguard and cap .
any help would be appreciated
Darrell

It was converted in March 1904. It won't be easy to restore. The stocks aren't readily available. The other parts are from a long Lee or Metford.
