The following is a photo of Charles H. Honea when he entered the ARMY. Charles came from the town of Muscatine, Iowa. He was assigned to Service Battery, 38th F.A.Bn, 2nd Inf Div. He was captured on Nov 30, 1950. He died in a POW camp on Jan 29, 1951.

That was the week the Chinese launched their surprise attack that defeated the Army and ROK units on the flanks of the Marines at the Chosin Reservoir, cutting them off.

Corporal Charles H. Honea (ASN: RA-17254321), United States Army, was held as a Prisoner of War after he was captured on 30 November 1950 during the Korean War. He was unaccounted for after the war and is presumed to have died or been killed while in captivity.

Officially Cpl. Honea is MIA, I presume a fellow prisoner interviewed after release related that he was taken away by the guards and never seen again, thus the 1/29/51 date. That particular period of time as related by Bob Seijas, was the beginning of the Chinese participation, and historical accounts of their brutality is well documented.
