Mixmaster Remington M1903A3 with Lyman 57SME and 17A XNB
I’m considering the sale of an M1903A3 (No. 37955XX) with a June 1943 four-groove barrel (assumed to be correct), consisting of partial Remington parts. The receiver is drilled and tapped for a Lyman 57SME receiver sight, and a Lyman 17A XNB has replaced the original front sight. It is re-parkerized (bolt included), and the finish is consistent. The stacking swivel, upper sling swivel, magazine cutoff switch, bolt handle (marked “8”), firing pin, and firing pin rod are marked with an R.
The bolt extractor, bolt sleeve, bolt sleeve lock, butt-plate (smooth), firing pin sleeve, spring, and trigger guard appear to be unmarked. The bolt collar contains a circled P. If I have missed anything indicating manufacture, don’t hesitate to ask.
The stock contains no markings, and contains a small (negligible?) crack ahead of the magazine floorplate, as pictured in the attachment. The stacking swivel screw appears to be a non-M1903A3 one, resulting in the swivel being loose. The previous owner appears to have sanded the grip area slightly (pictured), and there is black discoloration and a small gouge elsewhere (pictured). That ends the bad news, thankfully. It has a good bore (can't take good pictures to illustrate condition), and a good crown.
So, what’s it worth, considering Bubba’s handiwork?
