Saved Two More
I just recently finished restoring a couple of '03-A3's, a Remington and a Smith-Corona. The Remington I bought as a complete rifle that had a mixture of parts from every era of the '03 series production.
The S-C was a bit more challenging as all I had to start with was an action and a barrel.
This is what I traded for, Feb. 1943 production:

I managed to score a VERY nice S-C stock off of evilbay with handguard for what I considered to be a decent price and the tone for the restoration was set: Try to make it as nice as possible, using as many correct parts as I could reasonably source.
I know that it is certainly not perfect, in addition to now sporting a Remington barrel, I have a later production large bow trigger guard and a couple of small items that I want to upgrade.

Opps! I seem to have double posted a picture.

Nice looking rifles. It's getting harder to collect up the parts for building up a rifle. I used to find springfield parts for a dollar or two at the gunshows but not any more. The Springfield parts are drying up fast. It's still fun to save one though. It looks like you found a couple of good actions to start with. Salt Flat
