Gidday, Where can we find out about how those RSG slingwell numbers developed. Have found a 47A and a 67A but have no idea how they fitted into the overall plan. Similar to progression codes on some STD PRO stuff ? Any clues ? Thanks. Mike.

Hi Mike,
The additional letters/numbers in the slingwell are found on stocks used by/at the Saginaw Plant.
Beside the stock makers mark... RSG, Trimble.. etc, Some can be found with just the extra numbers, some with the extra numbers and a letter or two.
It's not just the Grand Rapids made (Robert Irwin) stocks that can be found with the number/letter combinations in the slingwell.
Trimble TN stocks or for that matter any stock made that was sent to Saginaw Steering Gear, Saginaw, Michigan may be found with the letter/numbers in the slingwell.
At this point, I'd only be guessing at why/what Saginaw used these extra markings for.
#1 Picture is a Trimble TN Type II stock with the boxed SG and CC. Used at the Saginaw Plant.
#2 picture is a RSG Type II stock also with the boxed SG and CC. Used at the Saginaw Plant.

Just to be clear..
The additional letters/numbers were applied at the Saginaw plant.
