Greetings! I have just started posting on here and notice they have threads for many WWII rifles. Since I have a few from all countries that were involved in WWII thought I would stop in and say hello.
Nice to know they have so many areas on one site. My favorite K98 that I own is my 1943 bnz. What does everyone have out their? Mic

I have a few. Most special being a Simpson rework of a Gew98.
The next best K98k went to a fellow I know who just HAD to have it. Near $2000 of "have to have it". So off it went.
Probably the next favorite is a pre-WWII example of which I have no photos.

In actual fact, I tend to gravitate towards the Gew98's. Wouldn't mind having a crisp small ring Chilean or Belgian 1889 rifle either.

There are, but the Mauser forum seems a little slow lately.
Favorite 98k I have is my Iraqi 98. Started life as a byf 41, reworked by the East Germans, and eventually sold to Iraq. I love the variety of property and inspection stamps all over it. Oh, and how cool is it that the matching serial numbers are 1066. (Teehee, my History Major is showing) GO HASTINGS!

In summary, it's an RC that I returned to as close to German usage as I could. Since the photos were taken, I've installed a sight hood and a repro sling. It's still one that is waiting to be fired. Bore looks nearly new.
Had several K98ks, just sold two F.B. RADOM with code 660 added. Had a 660 dating 1939, BCD 4, BNZ 41, etc. Oh and I had a Portuguese rifle with the matching S/N bayonet :) . Currently still have a fully matching 27 coded Erma plus a single claw scoped and a low turret scoped K98k. And yup, they're both genuine.
And if you allow to count these aswell, I also have two Austrian Army sniper rifles in 7.62x51 which were converted K98ks. They were named "SSG 98k" and introduced in 1958, used until the SSG69 came in 1969.
I have an absolute mint/unissued M941 Portuguese contract.

1. 1938, 243 (Borsigwalde) code
2. no year, blank receiver Luftamt stamped. has a Walther "359" eagle on the right of the receiver. don't know who put it together or when (though the barrel date is 1940, and they stopped with the Luftamt stamp in 1942 it still could have been assembled late war) never seen another one like it. it's a rare bit of 98k geneology.
