I do believe that is the stripped remains of the No22 sight base for the 6 Pdr AT gun. Possibly used on other guns as well.
Belay that, I checked a photo of the 6 Pdr. mount.
it's probably for the No22 as nothing else I know of had that sort of diameter, but the application is a mystery. Might even be something naval being bronze.
It looks too crude to a British naval mounting - even early Victorian items were well machined and finished.
It looks to me like a sight bracket from a Hotchkiss or similar light deck gun.
......takes me back to some of the rather indeterminate items I've seen go through auction houses...........'a speculative item for the specialist collector'..........!!
