Need Assistance IDing Item

I have a 30rd AR15/M16/AR180 parkerized steel magazine and polycraft package it came in and need assitance on how to check for the mfg of the mag and any other related info. There are no identifying marks on the magazine includeing the floorplate which is original to the magazine. Printed on the polycraft package is the identifying number DWG. NO. A628-9047, the polycraft package was mfg in 1969. I spoke with a very knowledgable person that works for a company that produces polycraft products for the US military and he said the A628-9047 designated a US Army item number. Would the US Army have any reference system on line or who could I contact that could look up the item number?

I found where DWG and Associates has had government contracts in the past but nothing specific other than a 2009 maintenance contract for pumps. Probably not the same.

Bill I tried DWG Assoc. and struck out. Found a DOD manual on line with codes that read like a phone book. Also found similar description of various US military items, taking a stab at it DWG. stands for "US military speak" Document Writeing Group and not the the mfg of the item. The item number such as A628-9047 if it could be referenced should say who made the item for the US Army, The A stand for Army as I was advised. Hopefully a Vietnam era Milsurp member who worked in supply can shed some light on how to search this part number

I had posted this 1969 dated envelope before, this 30rd steel magazine will fit both the AR-18/180 series and the Colt AR-15. The magazine is unmarked

Yesterday I spent some time searching and found on a firearms board where a since sold Costa Mesa AR180 that had all the accessories includeing five (5) of the 30rd parkerized steel mags referenced. What was significant was that the seller was the original owner who pointed out that he had purchased the 30rd mags directly from ArmaLite/Costa Mesa CA when he purchased the AR180. The mags didn't have the wrappers in the photos but they were all identical to what we have. Not sure if I can do it but I'm going to try and contact the seller. At this point in time it's getting very difficult to find original first owners of the rifles/accessories who can truely say what they purchased. I was talking with Pete Fleis a couple days ago and reminded him of the mags, he has a large amount if not all the files from ArmaLite Costa Mesa CA includeing purchase orders and reminded me that Federal Ordinance had a contract to provide magazines to ArmaLite. Pete's offered to let me sort thru all the files if I could make it to St Louis MO, I'm in MA but might take him up on the offer some day when I get the opportunity. Also Pete said that it was a coincidence in that someone had just sent him photos and xray of a this same mag still sealed in the package. I have a fair amount of original Costa Mesa price lists and other paperwork/manuals magazine articles etc that I'll have to review again to see if I can spot anything significant. Eventually I'm certain someone will materialize that will be able to explain who mfg the mags, but I'm certain now that they came/were sold by ArmaLite and are the real thing.

Are you sure the DWG NO doesn't stand for Drawing number? Least we not forget that before the days of PC's most everything maufactured had actual paper bluprints or drawings.
