I have the opportunity to buy a Czech VZ24 bayonet that has the cutting edge on the bottom instead of the top. What exactly is the reason for this and does it still fit a german k98 rifle?
Sorry let me rephrase the question since it might seem a bit confusing. Why do some VZ24 bayonets have the cutting edge on the bottom of the blade and the blood groove on the top instead of the usual cutting edge on the top with the blood groove on the bottom. I was just wondering because it seemed a bit strange to me. Any thoughts???

Ok it has come to my attention that it is an export model... Could these possibly be more valuable than the regular Czech blade up bayonets?
If the blade is down, it's probably a VZ23 and like you said an export model. Value would be determined by where it ended up and what additional markings are on it. A lot of these were exported to Persia and would have Persian markings on the pommel.
Not sure if it would fit on a German K98. The Germans used the VZ24 and VZ33 bayonets on their rifles but no mention of the VZ23. I do not have one to check but looking at photos, it would appear the muzzle ring is consistent with the VZ24.
As for value, anywhere between $20-$60 depending on condition and markings.
