Savage Lee Endfield no4 Mark 1* 1942?

Hi everyone,

I'm a Canadian from Monrteal region and I like this site, so I decided to become a member to keep on seeing it. I try to find the origine of my Savage Lee Endfield no4 Mark 1* 1942. I know now that it comes from Chicopee Falls but I can't find any pictures that look like my rifle.
It has a snipper micrometer back sight, but the wood desn't go to the muzzle. It looks like Long branch model, but it comes from Savage that's for sure. The serial number is 28C13..
By the way, îs there someone who knows what kind of charger clip is required for it? I think that is D.S. model but I'm not sure. Sorry for my english, I hope everyone understood. Thanks.

With thanks to Advisory Panel member Lance, there's also a rare "all correct" 1942 No.4 Mk1*(T) Savage Sniper Rifle (less scope) (click here) .....

Lance's article, accompanied by a detailed 165 pic photo montage, speaks to this example as being one of approximately 3,400 Savage rifles converted by Holland and Holland and re-barreled with an Enfield 5 groove barrel, however, it was never fitted with a matching No.32 scope.

Finally, you also might want to try our Google CSE custom search engine located in the top right corner below the words "Advanced Search". It only searches our site using Google techniques and can be quite efficient. For example, in your case, type in the words savage enfield and see what happens ..
