I have a 1942 Husqvarna m38 that has been turned in to a sporter, I would like to find an original stock set to put it back in original condition, anyone know where I might find one.

No guarantees but you can try: Numrich Gun Parts, Liberty Tree Collectors, Springfield Sporters and/or Sarco Inc. Every once in a blue moon they turn up on ebay.
You can get an M96 stock and cut it down. That's what I'm doing. It is appropriate as this is how a lot of the M38's were made. My original stock is a cut down M96 stock.
M96 stocks are a lot easier to acquire than M38 stocks. Cutting and fitting the nose cap and spring will be challenging.
I have a number of 38 & 96 stocks, but I don't think I can ship them to the US from Canada.
I bought them years ago from the estate of an old gunsmith.
