Chinese Mosin Type 53

Recently acquired a 1955 dated Type 53. Stock's fairly well dinged and looks as if it'd been submerged in axle grease for a while - no big deal, I'll get it cleaned up. After an awful lot of scrubbing the bore looks nice and the muzzle hasn't been counter-bored, so it may prove to be a decent shooter. Numbers on buttplate and receiver match, though the bolt's been sanitized, so no idea whether it's original - kinda doubt it though. The rifle's part of a recent batch imported by CAI. And now to my question; the magazine's floorplate seems to have a Russian cyrillic character as part of the serial number - which is nowhere near the other numbers on the rifle. Would the Chinese have used some Russian parts in their early production runs of the Type 53? Thanks in advance for any insights.
