Swedish M96 Bayonet
I know these aren't the most exciting of bayonets these days being pretty common and all but I got one today that I think is worth commenting on.
The bayonet and the scabbard match numbers. The blade is marked 821 and the scabbard tip and the cross guard are marked the same.
The cross guard is marked KA2 No183 and so is the scabbard.
Now comes the interesting part.
The cross guard is also faintly marked L over I2 and so is the scabbard. The cross guard also has under the primary stamping No 45a and again on the scabbard only cleanly seen.
Lastly a third set No2821 is also clearly seen on the scabbard and faintly/partially seen on the cross guard.
Some minor effort was made to polish/obscure the old numbers on the cross guard but all are clear and separate on the scabbard.
I'm impressed the two stayed together through all those changes.
