This is my T2 Rifle. Bought it 1968. Fired it and found it accurate and reliable Had not shot it again. I wondered then about the turned down bolt handle. I thought it was used on the paratroop rifle for compactness. I got it out this week and again wondered if the bolt was normal. The rifle is total matching including bolt and cover.
Bolt does not appear to be normal. They were not made with bent bolts.
With the use of some heat stop paste, it seems feasible to locally heat and straighten the handle. Wouldn't hurt to turn a heat sink for the bolt's bore, either, but it ought not be needed if the heat is localized well. Acetylene torch with small tip.
That I could do but I'll just use an untouched bolt to return it to factory configuration. without the dust cover. Then, both halves match with a MM bolt. thanks..Quote:
