Does anyone know where a fellow could find an online Ross Rifle schematic? Mark III?
I have never encountered such a thing on the 'net. The best single source of information is "The Ross Rifle Story", which has been reprinted. It costs about as much as a badly bubba'd rifle, but is necessary if you are going to collect Rosses.
If there is some information you are seeking, a question here could produce the answer.
This is my first post on this board. Your auto-generated e-mail brought me back to check it out again. Perhaps I can help with this old Ross Rifle schematic request.
I have a Gale and Polden publication covering the MkIII Ross Rifle, which includes several schematics. Gale and Polden was a commercial publisher in Britain, active during both World Wars, and they produced many military related publications, particularly during WWII for Home Guard use. I'd be interested to determine whether the G&P manual is mentioned in "The Ross Rifle Story," as it is a book I do not currently have in my library. I will scan in the schematics, and post them here ASAP, preferably today.

Firearm Manuals
This should be my second post, and it looks like my first went to the moderation queue, so hopefully they will both appear on the board here shortly.
I mentioned in my previous post that I have schematics in a manual from my collection titled, "The Mechanism of the Ross Service Rifle, Illustrated," published by Gale and Polden in Britain during WWII. It turns out that I also have another Gale and Polden Armorer's manual that has a simple Ross MkIII schematic. I have included all the illustrations here for your reference. Gale and Polden published commercially available manuals focused upon Home Guard use during WWII, as well as earlier, during WWI. Three other pocket manuals from this 1940 Gale and Polden series covered the Browning Automatic Rifle, the Lee-Enfield Mark III, and the P-14 Rifle. G&P also published many other weapon manuals for civilian use as the war progressed.
I hope you will find the following scans informative:
