It's an Royal Irish Constabulary carbine. Made or converted useing an LEC MkI. RIC carbines were made to mount a rifle bayonet.

Thanks...year made 1899 or 1902 like stock number?
It was converted to an RIC carbine in 1904. The original LE MkI carbine was made in 1899 as stated on the butt socket.

Very nice piece indeed. Kudo's to you for not sanding it, stripping it, varnishing or painting it!
Looks like the RIC might have polished their butt marking discs though.
Just missed antique status by a year I see. Can't have everything I guess.
