I am building a semi auto L4 from a de-milled MKII receiver. I am in the process of fitting the ejector block and could use some reference pictures with the block installed please. It would be a big help! Thanks.

You shouldn't need pictures although someone will put them up. This is because the ejector block (make sure that you have the correct A2,3,4 et al ejector and NOT the early ejector block with an inbuilt hold open device) fits into the recess vacated by the old original .303" ejector and magazine catch and is retained by the same lateral retaining pin. All you need to do is to ensure that you mill clear the area surrounding the new ejector block so that it fits snugly into the body sufficient to clear it AND be drawn back a couple of mm's so as to align with the retaining pin.
You understand that the rear of this new ejector block is in fact the 'new' rear of the magazine well.
I notice that you haven't mentioned the fitting or geometry of fitting the 7.62mm Bren magazines into the newly machined FRONT of the magazine well yet. Before you start, let me tell you that fitting the 'commonwealth' pattern magazine to the L4A2 onwards guns gave the re-designers nightmares. Until someone came up with a simple solution...............
Since this is a re-weld, I am curious as to how well the ejector block should seat. Here is my progress so far. Just curious how much more material to the receiver I should add to make a good clean fit.
Here are the areas of concern
If the new ejector block sits on the original ledge, pulls back so as to align with the original transverse locating hole of the retaining pin, then all should be well. All of the ejectors seemed to be a 'generous' fit in the bodies, with a bit of slop.
Mine is at a press fit right now. The retaining pin lines up. Everything is a bit to snug right now. It will still be nice to see a reference pic as I am trying to recreate something. Thank you for your input!
I'm not sure that pics of an actual L3 gun will do anything C130 because the internals are different to yours in any case. Such as the magazine lip support/reinforce and ..........
Be warned. Your problems are only just beginning. Wait until you get to the front of the magazine well to accommodate the nose and front locking lug of said magazine!
Progress so far. Now if I can just get some reference pics for the tough part :help:
The magazine opening cover isn't right! It should slide further back and click shut on the same stop line as the old Bren. I seemk to remember that the L4A2 m.o. cover had an insert brazed in place. I only remember this because occasionally the insert used to fall out rendering the m.o.cover useless.
It's going to be a nightmare to describe the front portion of the magazine well. I'll try by quoting a few passages of my book BUT I'd suggest that you make an appointment with someone who has an A2 onwards gun and study it in depth
