It looks to be a bolt stop off some bolt action rifle . The P14s and M1917s are close , but not right. Maybe a Mauser of some model ?

I appreciate the help Chris and I believe you are indeed correct. I found it while cleaning out my father-in-laws estate. He collected Enfields as well as other older bolt action rifles so I am going to safely assume it came from his spare parts box. :) I appreciate the help.
