Finn 'capture' 91/30.
Picked up a Finn 'capture' 1938 Tula 91/30 this weekend. It has the Finn stacked front sight. Two things got my attention about this rifle. One, the bolt is blued. After a little research, I discovered the Finns did this to a few 91/30s, then apparently abandoned the practice. Two, the stock is spliced. Rear portion is Tula stock, front portion seems lighter. Finn manufacture? Ive seen plenty of spliced Finn stocks, but can't ever remember seeing actual Russian stocks assembled this way. Anyone else out there have a Finn 91/30 with blued bolt and spliced Russian stock? Just wondered how common these traits were.

Blued bolts on Finn captured M91/30s are not common, but not rare either. Finns reusing the rear section of Soviet or Russian stocks and splicing them onto Finnish made forestocks, is quite common with captured and then reworked M91/30s.

Have seen a few Russian/Finn spliced stocks, but as for the blued bolts? Nothing springs to mind. Have not previously read about it either.
