Wonderful. Just wonderful.
Although not nearly as moving as old footage of a crash landing, I helped a wartime member of the Sherbrooke Fusilier Regiment. He was present at the rededication ceremonies of Tank "Bomb", a B Sqn Sherman that landed on D-Day and fought through to VE-Day without getting knocked out. He showed up without a cap badge. I offered to find a replacement as soon as I could. My badge collector friend Duncan could not have jumped faster. Within the week, Willie Pau had a replacement SFR badge for his beret.
