Any idea what a T O E marking is on a 1953 'Korean War' vintage No1 MkIII might mean?

I think it's actually to be read as O.T.E = Officer Training Establishment
Thanks ...... Would that be Australian?
Not a clue. Could be Indian. Post a really good close-up of the marking and someone might be able to identify it. There seems to be a monogram at the bottom. Possibly a W in a circle. And do not assume that the butt must be original to the rifle.
It's an Indian arsenal/ownership mark

It's in Ian Skennerton's "The Lee Enfield". If you don't this book, shame on you, you should its the book on the subject.

Ahhhh but I do have that wondrous tome ..... 15 miles away at the homestead. I wanted to respond to this local offer before end of day at work.
I have requested a better pic of the right side of the butt socket. I suspect it will be an Ishipore. The asking price is $425 with 1907 Bayonet, scabbard, frog ,sling, 50 rounds of unspecified 'ball ammo' and two 50's dated bandoliers. Seems reasonable.
It's an Ishipore. And the added pics:

$425 seems okay with all the other stuff. I'm not really sure of prices on Ishapores. The one I bought was a 1950 dated grenade launching one I paid a $150 for with the cup discharger.

Looks like it is actually T D E according to Edward's India's Enfields. Technical Development Establishment.
I snooozed and looozed. Thought about it too long and missed out on it. Oh well :banghead:
