Does anybody else get slapped in the face by there AK stock?
I have a Wasr-10 that beats the heck out of my cheek to the point of leaving a bruise. I'm thinking I might install a recoil buffer or maybe put some rubber between the stock an receiver. Does anyone else have this problem or what did you do to fix it?
Can't say I have. Usually a good tight cheek weld will prevent that from happening.

I get a good weld and tuck it good,its like a shock wave is moving through the stock it literally feels like somebody's smacking me and the sound is metallic if that makes sense. A poly buffer may be the way to go or a new spring.
I don't want to start part swapping if its just the nature of the beast and I'm not a fan of buffers.
I can't say I noticed anything. I had a blast firing it and the only issue was everyone else to the right of me running for cover from ejected casings. Only ever fired it the one time. I shot 10 from a rest and 10 or 20 off hand.
I'll tuck my AK in close to where my nose almost touched the cover. Can't say that I ever felt any thing like that. Got a brake on it?
Just the slant brake, I think the bolt carrier is slamming back way hard. Just looked up AK buffers it doesn't look like if it fails or a chunk comes off it'll effect operation but might mess with the trigger group. What the hell I'm not fighting the zombie horde I mind as well install one see if that helps Its no fun being bitch slapped by your own weapon you know..??
A buffer is not going to help this.
Very odd. Action spring replacement might help, but it seems unlikely to have all that much effect. Symtoms are reminiscent of a seriously over-gassed G43 i has years back. It would beat the operator silly and cycle so violently that it would catch it's own brass on the rebound sometimes.
Bill, Why will a buffer not help? I never took notice does the carrier not contact the receiver on recoil?
We have an old gunsmith at the club I'll see if he has a bore scope. Gas system never crossed my mind. Maybe corrosion opened it up who knows.
Have new springs an a buffer on the from Midway it's worth a try.
I really don't think it's my technic had two friends fire it and they noticed it too without me telling them. I can't see changing my hold any and still feel comfortable behind the weapon but I'll give it a try also.. I'll post my results after the changes.
