I was wondering if these were legal here. I'm looking at one that has the ten round mag non-detachable so I'm good in that respect but I'm not sure if its legal to have the folding bayonet in California or anything else that would disqualify it.

Unfortunate you can't get one from Canada, somewhere around $210.00 each and the recent arrivals are literally like new, well the vast majority are.

Chinese SKS's are crap try to find a Soviet or a Romanian M56 . i've had my fare share of Norinco crap they alway's jam or break. My cousin has a Yugoslavian M59 it dosen't look as well made as the Russian but it realy goes well and never jams.
Never had a problem with my Norinco import its well made and reliable and it has a Crome lined barrel. The only drawbacks I can think of, the stocks are poor quality wood functional just bland and no military provenance and its easy to install the recoil spring backwards which can cause malfunctions but that's true for all models.
My advice Surpman, go to a fun shop or contact your local sheriff to answer your questions. That way you KNOW your good.
thanks. I just wanted to get it because it was such a great deal. $200. I'm going to re-sell it to get a nicer gun.....if I end up getting it :dunno:
If it is a Chinese military SKS, it may not be as good a deal as you think for $200. These are currently the bottom of the barrel, most recent imports, still available from the dealers SKS's out there. If it is a Norinco import, whole different rifle.
Last two guns shows they had these for sale by the dozens. They look horrible, like they are covered in grey mold of some kind. I don't recall the price exactly but it seems like it was less than $200, couldn't have been much because I actually considered buying one to fix up.
