New Enfield inbound...

I'm predominately a 1903 Springfield and M1 Garand shooter, but my solitary Enfield example (1950's FTR Long Branch) has been speaking to me rather loudly for familiar company. Now that I have come into a little good .303 surplus, what better time to accommodate the demand.

I've been spying a near fresh from wrap MkII Faz, but for some reason it did not speak to me. As a shooter, I must be nuts walking away?

This is what I ended up buying instead, according to the seller...a rifle previously sold by Brian at BDL. An MP marked WW2 Longbranch, with a few more bumps on it...but a nice looking target sight to make up for it. Probably paid too much, but this one really spoke to me.

Can't fault a guy that just last year discovered his maternal roots pass through Canada by way of England, not just from Bavaria on my father's side.

A very nice Parker-Hale No. 4 sight! Much neater and "bag-friendlier" than the No. 5 type. Rarer too. If it helps you to digest the price you paid, I guess it would bring around 200 euros over here.

That is NICE! The machine work on those rear sights are second to none.

Yes they were. Recently sold this 1903 with a Lyman 48C on it, very similar in fit and finish I imagine. I think the PH is nicer, based on my research.

I cant wait to see how she shoots, get some relaxing time on the 500 meter range at my club.

Sadly its been hovering around 105+ in the shade. :(

I hear you on that! New rifles are just that, new. For me if they don't have the been there done that feel they usually leave my collection for something more interesting very quickly.
